A Day in Pacific Beach

A perfect day in Pacific Beach can start at our famous neighbor, Kono’s Café. Just a block along the Boardwalk, Kono’s features Breakfast sandwiches, burritos and classic burgers and salads from 7am to 3pm daily (4pm Sat and Sun).  Grab an Egg Burrito (#2 is a fav!) and bring it to the waterfront tables and watch the surfers by Crystal Pier. Kono’s owners intended to open a Mexican restaurant that offered cone shaped tacos, giving “Kono’s” its name back when they opened in 1991. Kono’s remained open throughout 2020 and we love supporting a local business!

Time to burn off the calories with a bike, scooter or skates and cruise along the Pacific Beach Boardwalk. Ride for miles on this paved Boardwalk from north of Pacific View Inn all the way down past Ocean Beach. Watch the surfers, stop for sun time on the wide sandy beach and pause for refreshments at one of the many beach bars and cafes.

Two miles south of Pacific View Inn is Belmont Park, with Beachfront fun. Currently operating with limited hours of 12 pm to 7 pm Monday to Thursday and 12 pm to 9 pm Friday and Saturday, Belmont Park features family fun with Coconut Climb, Midway Games, Rock Wall, Sky Ropes, Tiki Golf to entertain. Join in on fun at the Harvest Walk at Belmont Park for an open-air market with local vendors, artisans and a craft beer garden on November 7 and November 14, 2020.  Rides, the Arcade and Lanes remain closed, but we look forward to another ride on the Giant Dipper Roller Coaster soon!
